Blåvand itself is a popular and vibrant holiday destination on Denmark's west coast, affectionately known as the Pearl of the West Coast. The well-developed infrastructure offers various shopping facilities, activities, and numerous cafés and restaurants to visit. The beach at Blåvand is particularly child-friendly, as Ho Bay is very shallow, allowing paddling and swimming in shallow water in many places.
