One of the region's most remarkable natural attractions is the famous Black Sun (Sort Sol), when thousands of starlings gather in spring and autumn to create breathtaking formations across the evening sky. Ballum is considered one of the best places in Denmark to experience this unforgettable spectacle.

The Wadden Sea coast is just 750 metres from the cottage, while the nearest grocery store is approximately 8 kilometres away. If you're in the mood for a beach day, the island of Rømø can be reached in around 25 minutes by car, where you'll find the nearest sandy beaches, including the famous Lakolk Beach. For another memorable excursion, you can take the ferry from Havneby on Rømø to the German island of Sylt and enjoy a relaxing day exploring its beautiful coastline and charming villages.
